Root Canal Therapy

If a tooth is decayed or cracked, it is overly susceptible to a level of infection that can cause its loss. Once the decay or crack line extends deep into the tooth, the nerve tissue at the core of the tooth can become involved, causing discomfort and/or infection. In order to prevent progressing infection, or in more serious cases to rid the tooth of an existing infection, endodontic therapy – also known as root canal treatment/ surgery becomes a necessary option for our patients. Usually a root canal treatment involves between one and three visits to our office. Our North York root canal dentists provide this treatment to prevent recurring pain and infection.

The endodontic treatment clears the diseased pulp from the root of the tooth, then cleans and seals the area. Typically a crown is placed over the tooth to add strength and support. For a root canal, our patients receive luxurious care with comfortable surroundings that provide quick recovery times and typically pain-free procedures. Consult our North York root canal dentists to see if this treatment is required for your individual scenario.
